SERVICE HOURS INFORMATION

As stated in our parent handbook, each family is required to do 20 hours of service hours per school year.

the purpose of these service hours is not only for parent participation, but also to help reduce the cost of school expenses.

Please remember to turn in your SERVICE HOUR SLIPS each time a service is done by you, or your family members.  Please understand that keeping track of these hours is very important to you and to us.  One slip must be filled out for each service.

All service slips must be turned in to the school office by the end of each month, indicating which service was performed in order to receive credit.

*****PLEASE NOTE*****   The deadline to turn in your Service Hour Slips will be April 29th, 2010.  Service Hour Slips turned in after this date will be credited toward the next school year (2010/2011).  Families will be billed for the remaining time owed (if any).

Thank you.

The Weekly e-Vangel Week of March 1, 2010

Stations of the Cross and Birthday Brunch.  Please join us at 10:15am this Sunday as our choir leads us through a very special musical setting of the Stations of the Cross.  After this wonderful service, which includes the Holy Eucharist, we invite you to join us as we celebrate the life of our parishioner, Vernis Adams, as she celebrates her ninetieth birthday.  All are invited to this time of celebration, and we encourage you to invite others to join us on this day.  Please note that there will be no Rite One service or Bible Study this morning.

Lenten Soup and Study.  Our Lenten Soup and Studies series will continue this Wednesday at 6pm and every Wednesday during Lent in the Guild Room.  We will gather for a light supper and together reflect on the Lord’s Prayer as we prepare for the joy of Easter.

Prayer Circle.  This Lent, St. Mark’s is reintroducing the St. Mark’s Prayer Circle.  Those interested in participating as members are welcome to fill out an interest card (located at the rear of the church) or contact the church office.  And, should you need the intercessions of the Prayer Circle, you may contact the church office or find request cards in the back of the church.

Palm Sunday and Seder.  Please join us at 10:15am on Sunday, March 28, as we prepare ourselves for Holy Week with the Procession of Palms.  After our one service, we invite you to join us in recalling Christ’s last meal with his disciples.  We will share a seder meal in community as our Lord shared this special meal with his dearest friends.

Holy Week and Easter.  St. Mark’s will commemorate the last days of Christ’s earthly life with services on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.    We will remember Christ’s Last Supper on Thursday, April 1, at 8:40am chapel (with Holy Eucharist) and at 7pm, with a service of Holy Eucharist and Stripping of the Altar.   On Good Friday, April 2, we will follow the Stations of the Cross at noon and enter into the Liturgy of Good Friday at 7pm.   We will begin our celebration of Easter as we gather for the Great Vigil of Easter at 8pm on Saturday, April 3.   We will celebrate Easter Day on Sunday, April 4, at 10:15am.  Please extend an invitation to others as we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord with a service of Holy Eucharist and a festive brunch afterwards.

Haiti.  As reconstruction efforts in Haiti continue, your prayers and support are more important than ever.  Please visit Episcopal Relief and Development for ways that you can help.
